Marie Martinez – Disability Management Consultant
Marie has been working in the field of
disability management since 1991. Since that time she spent
over 10 years assisting disabled individuals return to or
maintain their employment through job modifications and
ergonomic solutions. She has had extensive experience in
working directly with this population specifically with the
goal of identifying suitable vocational goals and
implementing these goals through encouragement and guidance.
She has also had the opportunity to conduct workshops for a
variety of employers, particularly targeted toward
minimizing disability in the workplace. She has worked with
a variety of organizations including the California
Department of Motor Vehicles, the City of Chino, Department
of Social Services, Long Beach Unified School District,
Metropolitan Transit Authority, Mt. San Antonio College and
the Orange County Transit Authority (O.C.T.A.).
Marie’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts
Degree in Anthropology from the University of
California, Santa Barbara and a Master of Arts
degree in Anthropology from California State
University, Fullerton. She also attended
Universidad Nacional Autonoma Mexico in Mexico
City, where she furthered her studies in
Cultural Anthropology and Spanish. Marie also
earned a Certified Disability Management
Specialist (C.D.M.S.) credential in 1996 and has
completed Advanced Office Ergonomic Training
through the Center for Occupational and
Environmental Health through the University of
California, Berkeley. |
